Reduce Unexpected Downtime

The U-Disc coupling has the ability to be inspected during operation. By observing the disc pack under a strobe light during operation, users can diagnose potential application issues before they experience costly, unexpected downtime.

Cracks in the discs clearly communicate to the user that the driver and driven shafts are severely misaligned. Also, an ā€œSā€ condition, or bucking of a disc leg between driver and driven connecting bolts, tells the user the application is experiencing a torque overload situation.

With this information, modifications can be made to the application to extend the life of the coupling such as, depending on the severity of the deformation, the changing out of the spacer center assembly.
